I am not using an automated shopping cart system. Please read HOW TO ORDER- I WILL BE AT THE GLASS ART SOCIETY (GAS) CONFERENCE IN PORTLAND, OREGON BETWEEN JUNE 17-23. NO ORDERS WILL BE FILLED DURING THAT PERIOD.
“Welcome to Cooper Beads, the on-line source of borosilicate and soft glass beads, and PMC® jewelry by Ray Cooper, a beadmaker and Certified PMC® artist from Blue Hill, Maine. (That's me at work in the glass part of my studio.) This site will feature many of my beads that you may have seen at shows plus have some on-line specials available only here. I hope you like what you see and will consider buying some for your next project or to try in your bead shop. Please let me know what you think of the site.
If you are vacationing on the beautiful Downeast Maine coast, please stop by and visit my studio. Since it is a working studio, not a shop, I am open by appointment only. Call ahead to make sure I am home and I will give you directions. I am a bit off the beaten path, but the trip is worth it. Also check out my schedule (under SHOW SCHEDULE) of bead shows to see when I will be in your area. Or you can visit one of the fine bead shops and galleries that carry my beads and jewelry. For a listing of shops (and lots of other other interesting things) check under LINKS. (If you currently use or carry my beads and would like to be listed, drop me a line- see CONTACT US.)
Do you want to learn how to make glass beads or work with PMC® (Precious Metal Clay), the wonderful new silver in the form of a clay? Check under TEACHING SCHEDULE to see when and where I will be teaching. Don't forget to check the 2008 class schedule (Main menu: Teaching Schedule)as lots of new classes are now posted.
There are some great new PMC®products (disc beads), so be sure to check them out. All are one of a kind. I also have a lot of new PMC® rings, with and without stones. Right now they are only available at shows.

MY NEXT BEAD SHOW IS THE NASHUA, NH BEAD FIESTA-JULY 19-20 |
|

Cant get enough beads? My next bead show is not until July! It is the Bead Fiesta show at the Courtyard Marriott in Nashua, NH on July 19-20. Show hours are 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday. The hotel is at 2200 Southwood Drive. I will have lots of new stuff there, including plenty of my new borosilicate dichroic glass beads, which were a big hit at the Bead Extravaganza in April. Also, I will be having a special sale on my frit beads at the show only, not on the web- $3 each, 25% off the normal price of $4. I will be gradually discontinuing these beads, so get some before they are gone. I will have some discount admission postcards for the show. If you would like one, just drop me a line. Hope to see you there.

PMC® PLAY DAY AT "THE MOOSE"- June 28 |
|
Written by Ray Cooper
|
On Saturday, June 28, we will be having a "PMC® Play Day" at The Beaded Moose in Bangor, Maine. Time is from 10:00 to 3>30, and cost is $20 plus whatever you choose to buy. "PMC® Play Day" is for people who have basic experience with PMC® and would like a day to make things with other like-minded souls and then get your pieces fired in my kiln. Here' show it works. You show up with your basic PMC tools, and either bring your own clay or buy some from me (I'll also have stones, cabs, bezels and tools for sale) and spend the entire day making things, which are then fired in my kiln. All my tools will be there for you to use, however there will be no instruction. I might drop a friendly hint or two, or help you solve a problem, but I'll probably be making things myself. The $20 is split between me (for use of kiln and tools) and the shop (for use of the space). Advance registration is encouraged. Contact the shop at 207-992-2099 or their website via my LINKS. Call or email me with any questions. Hope to see you there.
